lavender Seeds Germination Guide Step by Step

Growing lavender seeds needs patience but is very rewarding

Step 1
Mix the lavender seeds with sand and then add to a sealable plastic bag and then add some water to keep the sand moist. Then seal the bag tightly. Wrap the plastic bag with cloth and place in the bottom of your fridge for three to four weeks.
Step 2
After four weeks take the plastic bag out. Get a tray and feel it with sand or a light growing soil and place lavender seeds on top of the soil and cover with a thin layer of soil. Then place the tray on a heat mat. Lavenders like the soil to be warm.
Step 3
If you do not have a heat mat and the temperature outside does not drop below 21 Celcius, place the tray under the sunlight. Lavender seeds need light to be able to germinate.
Step 4
Make sure you water the soil only once a day early in the morning so that the soil has a chance to get dry. Otherwise, a damp soil will grow fungi that destroy the lavender seeds.
Step 5
Lavender seeds will take up to four weeks to sprout. Lavenders love direct sun and the heat of the sun. Make sure that your seeds get at least 8 hours of sunlight a day. After your seeds have germinated transfer the seedlings to a container pot or your desired location.
